Who is SOS Online Backup?


SOS Online Backup is a single purpose company - our mission is to help consumers and small businesses properly protect the investment they've made in their data quickly, easily, and inexpensively. Based in Australia, SOS Online Backup started R&D for the SOS Online Backup System in 2002, and since then has worked to build a global backup network designed to provide simple and cheap online backup to anyone.

Our Backup Solution

The original idea for the company and the software - came from research that showed that whilst there are several hundred thousand small businesses using MYOB very few of them have adequate backup systems in place. We know the massive investment businesses make into using MYOB and other similar packages - and it made sense to us that where a businesses spends thousands of dollars every year in staff time, training, software etc to create valuable data - they should be able to insure that data cheaply.

Offsite Backup for everyone

We all get car insurance without thinking - and yet if we crash our car - it can be fixed or replaced. What would happen if you lost all your emails? All your financial records? What would happen if you lost your MYOB or Quicken or QuickBooks database? Over 60% of business who experience such loss are out of business within 6 months. Why? Because most people don't backup properly - either because it takes too much time and effort, or the systems required cost too much. For those businesses that do backup - the backup is usually inadequate - rarely done daily, and rarely taken offsite.
